Eastern White Pine is generally used in Canada for furniture due to its natural warm yellow, straw like colouring and character knot displays. It is a solid and very workable timber for furniture or internal joinery for exposed use in panelling or aesthetic roof design. EASTERN White Pine is grown in Eastern Canada, Quebec and the Maritimes.
Eastern White Pine
Quebec Yellow Pine. Also known as Eastern White Pine, the heartwood is a pale straw colour to light reddish-brown shade, usually little darker than the whitish sapwood. It is a soft, straight grained and very even textured wood with inconspicuous growth rings. Centre 3rds and 4ths grades generally available.
